Passenger on Pacific Adventure dies on Mystery Island in Vanuatu
A passenger on an Aussie cruise has died while visiting Vanuatu.
P&O Cruises confirmed the person was a passenger on board the Pacific Adventure – the company’s newest cruise liner.
They died at Mystery Island, a popular destination for travellers due to its stunning beaches.
In a statement the cruise company said: “We extend our deepest condolences to their loved ones and are doing everything we can to support them during this difficult time.
“As we are working with the relevant authorities and to protect the privacy of the family, it would be inappropriate to comment further.”
A passenger told 7News the deceased had died while snorkelling.
In May of this year, another cruise passenger died while swimming at Mystery Island.
Carnival, the cruise operator, said person died “following what appears to be a medical situation while swimming”.
