Hit-Boys Father Released From Prison, Goes To Studio With His Son

Publish date: 2024-06-04

Hit-Boy has teamed up with Big Hit for a new collaboration — proving that even Hip Hop holds it down for the family when the going gets tough.

Fans of the “Victims and Villains” rapper know that his father, Big Hit (real name Chauncey Hollis Sr.), had a bit of a rap sheet. Back in 2014, he was arrested in Illinois during a traffic stop, when it was revealed that he had an outstanding warrant in California. The warrant stemmed from a hit-and-run accident in Los Angeles which left several people seriously injured, according to Patch. Ultimately, the trial court sentenced Big Hit to twelve years and four months in the state prison.

However, Hit-Boy took to Instagram on Saturday (May 6) to reveal that his father had been released and came straight to the studio to lay down some tracks with his son.

“Big Hit Free. knocked down 9 years and came straight to the stu,” he wrote.

It’s not clear whether there will be a father-and-son joint album, or whether Hit-Boy was simply happy to see his father released from jail.

But those who are looking forward to a Hit-Boy collaboration album can take comfort in knowing that the producer will be dropping Everybody Can’t Go with Benny The Butcher on August 11. This album, which will be exclusively produced by Hit-Boy, marks the Buffalo rapper’s Def Jam debut.
