Gregory Jacobs Tragic Death: What Was The Cause?

Digital lead singer Shock G has passed away at the age of 57.

Two spokespersons for the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office in Florida confirm that Gregory Jacobs died. He founded in a Tampa hotel room on Thursday afternoon.

Shock G’s 1990 Billboard Top 10 smash “The Humpty Dance” solidified his place in hip-hop history. His creative output in music and a cast is appreciated.

Shock G participated in Shakur’s breakthrough single “I Get Around,” released in 1993, and co-produced the rapper’s 1991 debut album, “2Pacalypse Now.”

In contrast, 1991’s “Sons of the P,” Digital Underground’s second studio album, was met with much less acclaim. 2008 the band released a live CD, their most recent studio effort.

Busta Rhymes Shock G remained an influential producer, having worked with Dr. Dre, Prince, Bobby Brown, and others, recording and touring with muse George Clinton, even as the BET Awards celebrated hip-hop’s 50th anniversary.

Late Thursday and early Friday, social media was flooded with tributes to Shock G, with some users lamenting what they saw as a difficult month for hip-hop following the recent deaths of rappers DMX and Black Rob, who were also in their 50s.

Chopmaster J posted an Instagram to memorialize a fellow bandmate.

Nearly 34 years ago, he wrote, “We had a wild idea we can be a hip hop band and take on the world,” while that ambition eventually came true, the reality of it all was a nightmare for some. “And now that he’s awakened from the fame, long live shock G Aka Humpty Hump, and Rest In Peace, my Brotha Greg Jacobs!!!”

Ice Cube, an actor and rapper, mourned the loss of Shock-G/Humpty Hump on Twitter.

Gregory Jacobs Cause of Death

The tragic death of underground rap star Shock G got explained. An initial case description of the autopsy revealed that the end of famous emcee Gregory Jacobs got caused by an overdose of fentanyl, ethanol (alcohol), and amphetamine.

According to the summary provided by the Hillsborough County Medical Examiner’s Office, the cause of death got determined to be accidental.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office informed the medical examiner on April 22 that 57-year-old Jacobs got discovered unresponsive in a hotel room in Tampa, Florida. Fox News was told of Jacobs’ death by Digital Underground.

As Shock G, Jacobs oversaw the hip-hop collective Digital Underground, which featured future stars like Tupac Shakur, Chopmaster J, and more.

Together with Kenneth “Kenny-K” Waters and Jimi C. “Chopmaster J” Dright Jr., he founded the group in the late ’80s. In between albums and tours, the band would switch up its lineup.

Shakur appeared in the music video for “Same Song,” a song by Digital Underground from 1991, on which he also performed.

Jacobs and Shakur continued to work together closely, with Jacobs producing Shakur’s first solo album, 2Pacalypse Now. Additionally, Jacobs appears in the song “I Get Around” by Shakur.

Before releasing his solo debut in 1991, Tupac was a group member for a short time. A track titled “Same Song” from the EP titled .”
