Chandler Jones lashes out at Raiders over gym access

Chandler Jones just wanted to get some reps in, but he apparently couldn’t do that at the Raiders’ facility.
Jones, the veteran pass rusher who joined the Raiders last season, posted a series of Instagram stories going after head coach Josh McDaniels and general manager Dave Ziegler over the predicament.
The stories have since been deleted, but were preserved in screenshots by X user RaiderCody.
In one of the slides, Jones appeared to be texting McDaniels that Ziegler doesn’t answer his phone calls, adding, “It’s a shame that I am a top athlete with 112 sacks in the NFL and have to go to a local gym to work out during the season for no apparent reason this is wild to me Josh and you know it you need to do what’s right.”
Another slide read, “They won’t let me in the building tho. Tryna provoke a n—a.”
Yet another slide from Jones why the team had been in contact with one of his babies’ mothers that he does not have a present relationship with.
He ultimately concluded, “F–k it, I don’t want to play for the Raiders if that’s my [head coach] or [general manager].”
The situation was all-the-more puzzling because on Monday Jones had shared on Instagram that he purchased Tom Ford sunglasses for McDaniels and Ziegler, writing that ” they knew me since I was a kid.”
The 33-year-old Jones is entering his 12th NFL season.
He started his career in New England — where McDaniels was previously offensive coordinator and Ziegler worked in the front office — for four seasons, before spending six seasons with the Cardinals.
Jones signed with the Raiders for a contract reportedly worth about $17 million last offseason.
Jones had just 4.5 sacks last year, coming off a Pro Bowl campaign in 2021 in which he’d compiled 10.5 sacks.
